Wire Wrapped JewelryMost all jewelry is made with some wire: every chain link, pierced earring posts and hooks.
Every brooch has a pin on the back and we all know what it's made of.
It can be used to make necklaces, bracelets and rings or to create jewelry components such as jump rings and clasps.
Wire comes in round, half round, and square shapes. Round is most commonly used. Square is used for projects such as wrapping a cabochon or it can be twisted to create a filigree effect. Half round is used mostly to bind round or square wire together in flat bundles. It comes in three different hardnesses: dead soft, half hard, and full hard. I prefer dead soft.
It is easier to manipulate. The following items were made with dead soft anti-tarnish argentium or gold-filled.
