When a finished piece is held up to the light, one color will be visible but when viewed at another angle another color will appear creating a two-colored effect. Hence, the word dichroic which means two-colored. It is fused together through a process of heating in a kiln or by using a torch. A glass layer with metallic oxide coatings are applied to the base to create a stunning optical effect.
